Basic Program Online Course

Studying on-line

WHAT IT IS: The Basic Program is an FPMT in-depth study program of nine important texts in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of Lama Tzong Khapa. The online course parallels the two-year full-time onsite Basic Program held at Lama Tzong Khapa Institute from January 16th, 2012 to December 13th, 2013.

While the audio recordings of the teachings given by the residential program teachers, including Dagri Rinpoche, will be made available to on-line students, weekly review classes specifically created for on-line students will be taught by a Western teacher, who takes into account the needs and limited time available to students with full-time jobs and family responsibilities.

The online course consists in weekly classes in audio format, supplemented by guidelines for meditations in audio/text format, reading materials, regular quizzes, a forum for discussion, and service projects aimed at benefitting others.
