We welcome everyone interested in following a course or just to spend some quiet time enjoying the beautiful, peaceful setting.

Lama Tzong Khapa Institute is a Tibetan Buddhist center located in the heart of Tuscany (Italy). We offer regular courses on Buddhism, meditation, and many other topics, all aimed at the development of the human qualities of kindness, compassion, and wisdom.

The reception office, located adjacent to the main entrance, is open every day:

Our receptionist is available for general information regarding the Institute’s weekend courses, booking and paying for accommodation.The main administrative offices and other offices, including the Study Program Administration, are adjacent to the reception.

Weekend courses, the Masters, Basic and Master’s in Wisdom daily teachings and review classes take place in the main meditation hall and the conference hall (commonly referred to as the “palestra”), which are located in the main building and the Chenrezig Gompa, located in a shady woodland area on the Institute’s grounds.

The Institute has a well-stocked library containing a wide selection of books in English and Italian on topics not only related to Buddhism but also to psychology, philosophy, humanities, languages and travel. The library reading area is generally accessible at all times but is occasionally used for weekend courses. Please ask at reception for more information about library membership and book withdrawal.

You can access the library, to read and study, at any time.

Course participants are encouraged to bring their laptop computer. A wireless network can be accessed at various points in the main building.

SHOP:  The products in the shop are however available through ILTK Shop, the online shop of the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute.

The Institute has a small coffee bar serving a range of high quality Italian blended coffees together with tea, herbal teas, hot chocolate, and ice creams.

The Institute shop adjoining the coffee bar contains many Dharma items including statues, tangkas, and ritual objects as well as Dharma books, booklets, audio and CDs, and videos, mainly in Italian. It also stocks a selection of clothing, prayer book covers, and meditation cushions. Our ILTK Shop online  stocks similar items.

Our Japanese Tea Garden is in a pleasant corner of the grounds near the prayer wheel. t is open in the late afternoon and evenings from spring through to late summer. It serves a selection of high quality teas from around the world in traditional Japanese style.
In the winter months the service is suspended.
