The Courage of Compassion Meditation Retreat with Ven. Robina Courtin
February 18-21 The Courage of Compassion
Meditation Retreat with Ven. Robina Courtin
Venerable Robina Courtin will lead a meditation-retreat based on Chenresig, the Buddha of Compassion.
Strength and practicality are the distinguishing features of Ven. Robina’s way of teaching, and every advice she gives awakens people from laziness and inactivity of Dharma practice like a sudden clap of hands.
Following this retreat can help us greatly in finding ways to apply in action the teachings we have heard so far.
Guided by Venerable Robina’s instructions and supported by a tutor, the meditations will be based on Chenresig’s visualisations.

The significance of the minimum offer:
The benefits derived from participation in a retreat are innumerable. The days dedicated to an intensive practice of meditation can lead to a deep self-knowledge and to know how much it is possible to nourish and increase the positive attitudes that are present in every living being. For this reason it wants to be offered the opportunity to participate to those who, while recognizing the importance for their own and others’ well-being, has serious economic difficulties.
Through the suggested offering we invite the participant to a gesture that is ethical and conscious that compares their economic possibilities with the appreciation for what they have received from the retreat and that, with generous wisdom, can be cause and condition for the continuity of the activities related to the dharma, not only for themselves but also for others in the future.
The request for a suggested offering is attributable to the practice of dāna that in Buddhist thought, has the effect of purifying and transforming the mind of the donor.
In the Dighajanu Sutta of the Pāli Canon, generosity is identified as one of the four traits that condition happiness and wealth in the next life.
